One of the Stateline’s most successful high school football coaches is switching to another Stateline school.
A source close to the situation tells me that Denny Diduch is resigning as head football coach at Forreston to become an assistant coach at Guilford in Rockford.
Diduch has been Forreston’s head coach since the 2008-09 season. His teams have won 87 games and lost 27 for a winning percentage of .763. Forreston also has won two 1A state championships under Diduch in 2014 and 2016. Last season the Cardinals were 11-2. They have made the playoffs the last eight seasons while competing in the NUIC.
At Guilford Diduch will be joining forces with another highly successful coach in Guilford head coach Bruce Bazsali. The 73 year old Bazsali just completed his first season at Guilford. His Vikings went 4-5 and just missed the playoffs. Before that Bazsali was the head coach at Rockford Lutheran for seven seasons. The Crusaders posted a 53-24 record during that time and they made the playoffs the last five seasons.
There has been no confirmation yet from Diduch or Forreston officials that he has resigned.
Stay tuned for more details.
