Guilford strengthened its hold on first place in NIC-10 boys volleyball Thursday with a win over second place East.
The Vikings won 26-24, 20-25, 25-15. They improve their conference record to 10-0. East dips to 8-2. Both of the E-Rabs losses now have been at the hands of the Vikings.
“It was definitely tight. Just a hard game,’ said Guilford co-captain Connor McKenzie. “We all were working our butts off to try and counteract them. We were bringing our level with their level and it was such a great game!”
“We talked about it all week how we were going to make sure that we played the game for us and not on emotions against them and it was one game at a time,” said Guilford coach Tina Sundstedt. “It took the entire team to do this and I’m very, very proud of them!”
