Harlem names Moynihan new head football coach

Harlem High School has a new head football coach. The Harlem School Board has approved the hiring of Robert Moynihan.

Moynihan comes from Zion-Benton High School where he was the head football coach. Last season he guided the Zee Bee’s to their first playoff appearance in 16 seasons with a 5-5 record.

According to a press release from Harlem High School Moynihan has also served on coaching staffs at St. Viator, North Chicago and Proviso East.

Moynihan graduated from St. Viator and he went on to play football at Southeast Missouri State.

Moynihan replaces Jim Morrow as the head coach at Harlem. Morrow resigned at the end of last season his 15th at the school. Harlem went 7-3 last season. The Huskies will return several talented players next season including quarterback James Cooper, tight end Dominic McCarren, and receiver/kick return Jalon Benson.
