Jefferson Holds Off Auburn

Sports Connection

Jefferson didn’t have it easy Wednesday night barely holding off Auburn 66-63 in their NIC-10 basketball opener.

The J-Hawks were without star guard Quillin Dixon who sprained his ankle last weekend playing in the RPS 205 Tip-Off Classic. With him watching on the end of the bench fellow senior MyQuion Garrett picked up the scoring slack. He poured in 26 points. James Dunner added 18 points and Terry Ford scored 13.

Auburn was led by Yahmir Muhammad with 23 points.
