Rockford Lutheran senior basketball standout Kenny Strawbridge finally has another place to call home. He’s signed with the University of Missouri-Kansas City a Division I school.
Stawbridge made his choice official on his twitter account Monday night with the following tweet:
“First and foremost, I want to thank God with blessing me with my talent and guidance towards me making this decision. I want ot thank my family for all the love, support and all the sacrifices they made over the years to get to this point. I would like to thank all the coaches who recruited me and spent the time to get to know my family and I. I would also like to thank all the coaches, trainers and anyone else who has helped me get to the point I am today. With that being said I am excited to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at the University Missouri-Kansas City ROOS”
The Roos compete in the Western Athletic Conference. This past season they were 10-22 overall and 5-9 in the WAC.
Stawbridge averaged 26.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game as a senior at Rockford Lutheran. He was named second team All-State by the AP for Class 3A and he was named fourth team All-State for Classes 3A-4A by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
Strawbridge missed half his junior season with a ankle injury and he fell off the radar of a lot of college recruiters until he completed his senior season.
