There was a whole lot of cheering going on at Jefferson High School Thursday night in Rockford. The Big Northern Conference and NIC-10 Conference competitive cheerleading competitions were held.
North Boone won the Big Northern championship.
“We’re just over-the-moon ecstatic!,” said North Boone coach Krystal Jole. “We’ve made a lot of growth from the beginning of December and we’re just so excited. Going into sectionals, this is really what we needed.”
Belvidere North won the NIC-10 championship for the eighth straight year.
“It feels amazing,”said Belvidere North cheerleader Gianaen Ciso. “We’ve worked so hard for this moment. I’m just to proud of my team and proud of everything that we’ve accomplished so far in the season.”
“It’s been a lot of work,” said Belvidere North coach Lacee Sattelberg. “We start our conditioning in the summer, in May. We go all summer long and all fall to get to this moment.”
