Rockford Christian shines at Sectional Track & Field Meet

Rockford Christian will be well represented at the Boys State Track & Field Meet again next weekend in Charleston. The Royal Lions had several standout performances Thursday at the Class 2A Oregon Sectional.

Riley Wells led the way with a victory in the 800 meter run. He is the defending 1A state champion in that event. Elijah Nitz qualified for State in both the shot put and the discus. Noah Fulcomer qualified in the 110 high hurdles, Maclachi White in the triple jump and Rockford Christian’s 400 relay team also qualified.

Cameron Poole of Rockford Christian qualified for State in the shot put, discus, 400 run and 800 run in the Athletes With Disabilities Division.

Other standouts at Oregon included Freeport’s Jaden Johnson who won the 110 hurdles and finished third in the 300 hurdles and Freeports DonTay Thompson who won the 100 dash.
