Stillman Valley’s Wilhite recognized by ‘USA Today’

Stillman Valley’s Andrew Wilhite has earned recognition from the USA TODAY.

He’s been named to the paper’s ALL-USA Illinois Second Team. This past season Wilhite had a .474 batting average for the Cardinals during the regular season. He hit 12 home runs and he drove in more than 50 runs.

Wilhite will play at the University of Minnesota next season.

John Darlington, Plainfield North
The only coach the Tigers have ever known led them to the school’s first team state title in any sport. Darlington, who has amassed 322 wins in 12 years at Plainfield North (450 in his coaching career), guided the Tigers to a 29-7-1 record and a 4-3 win over Huntley in the Class 4A state championship game.
