The Rockford East boys basketball team finished 4th in state in Class 4A, after falling to Curie 64-55 in Peoria on Saturday. The E-Rabs trailed by just three with under two minutes left in the game, but a costly turnover by East senior Chris Burnell would permanently shift the momentum to Curie who walked away with the win.
The East E-Rabs have been the powerhouse team of the Rockford area all basketball season. Now they're out to prove that they're as good as any team in the state. They get that chance starting Friday night when they take the court in Peoria for the Class 4A semifinals against Evanston Township.
