Titans’ State Run Comes Up Short

Sports Connection

Boylan’s goal of reaching the State Tournament has come up just short again. The Titans lost in the 4A Streamwood Super-Sectional Monday night to Geneva 54-42.

It’s the second straight season that Boylan has lost in the Super-Sectional. The Titans had high hopes after winning all of their previous 32 games this season, but Geneva jumped out to a 14-3 lead and the Titans were playing catchup the rest of the night.

“It’s always disappointing for the girls, and for the coaches, ut we have to look at the positives, and there were more positives than negative (this season),” said Boylan coach Paul Perrone following the game. “One game is not going to define our season, and we had a great season, won many championships. I’m very proud of the kids, and when you get beat you want to get beat by a great team and they were.”
