A New Batch Of Rockford Peaches

Sports

A Little League team in West Seattle has adopted the name of the Rockford Peaches.

The original Peaches made up a women’s professional baseball team that competed in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in the 1940’s and 1950s.

These Peaches also play baseball, but they’re only six to eight years old. They wear pink shoes and pink gloves and they play against teams made up almost entirely of boys. The girls hold their own against the boys.
