For the second game in a row the Bears lose to a divisional opponent by a field goal. First it was against the Detroit Lions in a 37-34 loss in overtime, and now Sunday against the Vikings at Soldier Field.
The Bears took a 20-13 lead with just under five minutes left in the game when Jay Cutler ran in a four-yard touchdown run. But then Minnesota scored ten unanswered points including a thirty-six yard field goal as time expired.
” It seems we’re getting into a lot of these games and we’re not coming out on the winning side enough,” says quarterback Jay Cutler. “You know I think Coach Fox said it the best there’s not a lot of blowouts in the NFL. You’re going to be in some tight games. You got to find a way to win in the fourth quarter.”
Despite another loss John Fox’s team continues to show competitiveness and fight. Which is something the team build on.
“I told the team we fought, we battled,” says head coach John Fox. “Our guys competed. It’s not lack of effort or the lack of want to. It’s just in big moments you got to make plays.”
The Bears are now 0-3 in the division.
