The days of cramped practice facilities and late night and early morning practice are likely over at Boylan High School.
The school’s new Bachrodt Center for Health and Fitness was officially dedicated Tuesday. An assembly was held in the facility.
Pat and Lou Bachrodt, the men who led the fundraising efforts for the center were there. Bishop Malloy was also there to offer his blessing.
The Center has two full basketball courts and ten hoops.
Fundraising efforts began in 2010 for the Center which cost $3.5 million. More than 10,000 donars pitched in.
“It’s nice to see a community come together to donate money to get this facility built,” said Pat Bachrodt. “It shows you the strength of all the past graduates and the future graduates what it can get accomplished with a goal.”
“The students are excited,” said Boylan Catholic President Amy Ott. “A lot of the other facilities in our community have these kind of things and it was important that we continue to do what our students need for them.”
