Former Bears coach Lovie Smith is out of a job. He was fired Wednesday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers were 8-24 in Smith’s two seasons as head coach. They were showing signs of improvement this season when they went 6-10, but they lost their last four games.
Several Bucs players expressed their shock and disappointment at the news.
Tampa has had three head coaches in the last five years.
