The Stateline’s favorite UFC fighter Corey Anderson is coming home soon and he wants to see you.
Anderson now lives in New Jersey, but on Friday, August 31 the Rockton native will make a special appearance at the Stockyard Rock Burger Bar & Arcade in the Old North Towne Mall on West Riverside in Rockford. He’ll appear there from 7:30 p.m. until closing time. He’ll sign autographs and take pitches with the fans and more.
Anderson is coming off two huge victories this year. One was in April over Patrick Cummins. The other was two weeks ago over third ranked UFC light heavyweight Glover Teixeira.
“We’re just trying to get everybody out in Rockford,” said Anderson in a phone interview from New Jersey Monday evening. “I want to give everybody one of the best nights they can have. Come out and hang out with me at Stockyard Bar and Grill. We’re going to play games. I’m going to hang out with the fans. We’ll have a raffle. I’m giving away fight gear. Everybody get together as one and let’s just have a good time.”
Those who attend will also be given a free five dollar card to play on the arcade games.
Meanwhile Anderson is still elated over his win against Teixeira and he’s waiting to see what’s in store for him next in the cage.
“Yea I’m still happy about it. That’s going to be until the next fight, but we’re just focusing on other things right now. That’s in the past. We’ll wait and see what’s next.”
