The Cubs fell flat in the NLCS getting swept by the Mets. So how much of a damper does that put on what was an otherwise great season?
Eyewitness News reporter Josh Filomeno got the following comments from Cubs fans Wednesday night at Wrigley Field.
“You know what you sort of expect it (a bad ending), but nobody thought they’d be this far, so it’s alright. We’ll take it, but they’ve got to do it next year,” said Jim Warren.
“I would love to see them go farther, but at least they made it to this far,” said Nicole Lorenzo.
“I’m pretty sad, but they’ve gone this far so I’m pretty stoked for them,” added Alex Cabrito. “Hopefully they get better next year.”
“Pitching just killed us this series. We just couldn’t hit. If you don’t score you don’t win,” said Michael Orahilly.
“I’m feeling pretty salty, but at least the Cubs made it farther than the White Sox, said Carday Watson.
And Bob Turner had the comment that you knews was coming, “Like we’ve said for years there’s always next year,”
