The Lady E-Rabs continue to impress in one of their best seasons in program history.
East defeated NIC-10 rival Hononegah 50-43 in overtime to win their first regional championship since the 1980s.
The Lady E-Rabs trailed by nine points at halftime, and turned it all around in the third quarter. The Lady E-Rabs started the second half on an 8-0 run, and went into the fourth quarter down just two points.
The game went to overtime where guard Anaiah Moore hit a jumper that gave the Lady E-Rabs a lead they never would never relinquish.
“Tonight we came back out at halftime, and we knew the game wasn’t over, and we left it all on the floor,” says East senior Victoria Malone.
Hononegah had their way with East in their regular season matchup back in January. The Lady Indians won by nearly 30 points. To get revenge on this stage was a sweet moment for the Lady E-Rabs
“For us to come out, a full team effort, and kind of work as a team all the way to the end and to beat Hononegah it’s huge,” says East senior Madi Hecox.
