Thursday will kick-off the Bring Your Game 2 Rockford campaign.
The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau along with Rockford’s sports tourism ambassador Fred Van Vleet have a few busy days ahead of them. The two will host three events in four days.
It all starts with Thursday’s Sports Stories event at Veteran’s Memorial Hall. Van Vleet will be joined by Gold Glove Champion Angel Rodriguez, UFC fighter Corey Anderson, and Rock Valley College’s women’s basketball coach Misty Opat.
The next two events will take place at the UW Health Sports Factory. Friday evening will feature Fred Van Vleet’s Fan Fest, and over the weekend Van Vleet will host his very first basketball camp on Saturday and Sunday.
“I’m definitely getting excited,” says Van Vleet. “It’s been a crazy week because of my schedule. I’m just trying to put together a good camp, and when you’re putting your name on it, putting your stamp on it you just want to make sure that it’s a good event ,and a good product. I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
Over 150 kids have already signed up for the Van Vleet’s camp.
