Drew Hare’s rehab from a ruptured achilles is going well. So well that the NIU quarterback should be ready for spring ball in March.
Hare suffered the injury in the Huskies game against Toledo November third. He had surgery shortly thereafter.
“He’s up walking without a boot. Without anything,” says NIU coach Rod Carey. “He’s moving. He’s throwing. He’s not taking any drops. He’s really going to be cleared from what the medical staff has told me March first.”
Just to be safe Carey has pushed back the start of spring practices a bit this year. They’ll begin March 22.
