Harlem playmaker Benson picks SE Missouri State

One of the most dynamic offensive players in NIC-10 football history has made his college choice. Harlem’s Jalon Benson announced Tuesday that he has committed to South East Missouri State.|

He put out the following tweet:

SEMO is located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The RedHawks are an FCS Division I program that competes in the Ohio Valley Conference. Last season they were 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

Benson has been a key contributor to Harlem’s varsity team since his freshman season thanks to his quick feet, sleek moves, and speed. Last season as a junior he was named First Team All-NIC-10 as a receiver. He has 24 receptions for 419 yards and five touchdowns. He also carried the ball 23 times for 78 yards and fourth touchdowns. Benson also ripped off several returns for touchdowns on special teams.

Benson is also a standout defensive back.
