The IceHogs won’t be lacking for leadership as they embark on this season thanks to the return of veterans Jake Dowell and Pierre-Cedric Labrie.
Dowell is 31 years old. The center is entering his tenth pro season. Labrie is 30. The left wing is also entering his tenth pro season.
“I think it’s just our job to get everybody to be as comfortable with everybody at the start and make sure we get off to a good couple games here and get a good feeling in the locker room,” says Dowell.
“I think I fit well with the community and with the guys here,” says Labrie. “I just have a really good chemistry with the staff and really appreciate what the organization did for me in the past.”
Labrie had 20 goals and 14 assists for the IceHogs last season. Dowell had 11 goals and 24 assists and he was named to the AHL All-Star team.
The IceHogs will open their season at Cleveland Friday night.
