The University of Illinois is ready to turn the page completely on the Tim Beckman era.. The University announced Tuesday that it has reached a lawsuit settlement with Beckman that will pay him $250,000.
Beckman had sued the university for wrongful termination. When he was fired last August he still had two years and more than three million dollars remaining on his contract.
The university fired him after players raised several allegations against him. Many of those players claimed they were pressured into playing when they were injured.
University officials says they stand by their decision to fire Beckman.
