WTVO/WQRF — Dixon native Isaiah Roby took the court for the first time as a member of the Dallas Mavericks organization Friday night. He made his debut in the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League.
He played 28 minutes. He scored ten points on 5-12 shooting from the field. He also grabbed four rebounds, blocked two shots, and he had one assist and one steal. The Mavericks beat the Brooklyn Nets 96-92.
Earlier this week Roby told reporters he likes the atmosphere in the Mavericks’ organization.
“A lot of places talk about culture. Since the time I got in here we’ve been real high energy, real supportive of each other, so it’s a great environment to learn and grow in.”
The Mavericks next summer league game will be Saturday at 8 p.m. central time against the Houston Rockets.
