Jeff Glass came through in his first playoff start this season for the IceHogs Thursday night. He’ll get a shot to duplicate that tonight.
Josh Filomeno reports in our pregame preview from the BMO Harris Bank Center that Glass gets the starting nod again over Collin Delia.
Delia was in goal for the IceHogs seven game winning streak to open the playoffs, but he didn’t have as much success in the Western Conference Finals against the Texas Stars. His goal against average climbed from 1.62 to more than 4.
Glass had 28 saves in the IceHogs 3-2 overtime win in game four Thursday that kept the IceHogs’ season alive.
My main goal is just to help this team win,” said Delia after Thursday’s game. “Tonight it meant me going in the net but that doesn’t really change my mentality at all. I’ve kind of had the same mentality all the way through the playoffs that whatever it takes is best for the team.”
“That’s a guy you feel pretty good about putting in that spot,” said IceHogs coach Jeremy Colliton. “I know he really wanted that opportunity. He’s been a good teammate through all of this. That speaks to the kind of guy he is.”
