Keith Country Day graduate Adeja Lambert has become the first women’s volleyball player from Rockford to sign a professional contract to play volleyball.
The Michigan University standout signed a deal with a team in Finland’s top pro league. Lambert will soon have her degree in Psychology, but she’s not ready to stop playing volleyball just yet.
“I’ve always had plans of playing professionally since seventh grade. That’s when I started,” says Lambert. “To see this as a dream come true has been amazing and I’m excited to have that new journey ahead of me.”
Lambert won’t leave for Finland until August. She helped Keith win two state championships. She was third on Michigan’s team in points and kills last fall.
Lambert is the second player for the area to play pro volleyball. Boylan’s Trevor Weiskircher signed a contract back in October to play professionally in Greece.
