Kevin Flack entered Sunday tied for ninth down six strokes of the lead in the Atwood Golf Classic in Winnebago County after shooting a 76 in the first round. But that didn’t keep him from chasing his third Atwood Classic Championships in four years.
Flack shot a 71 in the second round landing him in a 3-way playoff between Brian Silvers and Robert Dofflemeyer.
Silvers, who has won this event twice before, came into Sunday with the lead after shooting a 70 in the first round. But a 77 on day 2 cost him the lead.
Dofflemeyer, who won the in 2014, came into Sunday tied for second after shooting a 71. A 76 second round also landed him the playoff.
The play-off only lasted on hole. Both Silvers, and Dofflemeyer bogeyed nine. Then Flack completed an impressive day with a par putt to complete the comeback.
Flack has won the Atwood Golf Classic in 2013, 2015, and now 2016.
