Kevin Flack entered Sunday with a three-stroke lead after shooting a 64 at Ingersoll Golf Course in the first round of the Melvin Ballard Memorial Golf Tournament. In the second round Flack couldn’t match his day one total, but he can live with the results.
Flack shot a 68 in the final round, putting him at -10 and win the tournament. It’s the third time in four years that Flack has won the Ballard Memorial. He’s putting together a very impressive season so far on the green. Flack finished second to Kyle Slattery in the Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Match Play, and rallied in the final day of the Atwood Golf Classic defeating Robert Dofflemeyer and Brian Silvers in a three-way playoff. Flack attributes his early success to the hard work he put in during the off-season.
“I’ve put in a lot of work this winter in my basement,” says Flack. “So it’s fun to see kind of the fruits of my labor from the winter, and it’s fun going out there and playing good golf.”
Danny Gorman came out to a fast start on Sunday after shooting a 67 on Saturday. A 70 at Sandy Hollow earned him a second place finish.
Robert Dofflemeyer takes third after a 73 second round, and Joey Watts who was tied for third after day one shoots a 79 on Sunday.
