Le-Win keeps perfect record intact, hands Forreston first loss

Sports

It was a showdown of the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the state in Class 1A. But it quickly turned into the Lena-Winslow Panther show. The Panthers bolted out to a 38-0 halftime lead and rolled to a 46-14 win over Forreston Friday night.

The Panthers reeled off one big play after another in the first half including a 45 yard touchdown pass from Luke Benson to Marey Roby on the Panthers’ first offensive possession. That was on a 4th down and 5 play from the Forreston 45.

In the second quarter Ronnell Valentine took a pitch and went 95 yards for another touchdown for the longest play of the night.

Meanwhile Le-Win’s defense put the clamps on Forreston’s vaunted running attack.
