Sunny and 60 degrees, the NIU Huskies couldn’t have asked for better weather for their annual “Huskie Bowl” public scrimamge in DeKalb on Saturday morning. It’s the highlight of every spring practice. This year even more so with new Head Coach Thomas Hammock running things. This was the 14th spring session for the Huskies. Hammock says he’s pleased with what he’s seen so far.
“Yeah, we’re progressing,” Hammock said. “I think our defense is really, really stout. I think our offense has done a good job improving every day and competing and trying to match the intensity of the defense. I think the most important thing is we’re trying to identify what guys can do well and then put them in situations where they can be successful.”
The Huskies open the season at home on August 31st against Illinois State.
