Park District Turns To Former IceHog

Sports

The Rockford Park District has turned to former IceHog Oak Hewer to fill one of its key positions in its hockey program. Hewer  will be the District’s Hockey Coordinator.

“Nobody does hockey better than the Rockford Park District, and bringing Oak to the team, someone who has been such a big part of our hockey curriculum and on-ice excellence, really takes our hockey program to the next level,” said Assistant Executive Director Jay Sandine.

Hewer says the timing is perfect for him to continue his hockey career with the Rockford Park District.

“The Rockford Park District has great relationships in place with the Rockford IceHogs and Chicago Blackhawks, which is very unique, and sets them apart. With the leadership team in place, the support from the entire District, I see the hockey program continuing to grow at a rapid rate, and I’m excited to bring the skill set I have to area youth,” says Oak Hewer.
