It’s not every day that one of the all-time great pro bowlers comes to Rockford. Thursday was the exception.
P-D-W, Pete Weber was at Don Carter Lanes. Weber won 37 titles on the PBA tour including a record ten majors. he’s still going strong on the PBA50 tour where he’s won ten more titles and four more majors.
Weber was in Rockford to sign some autographs and to pitch some of the newest products and balls from Storm.
“The new ones that are coming out are the Jason Belmonte Timeless bowling ball which he designed with the help of one of the guys at the plant which everybody seems to like so far. And then we’ve got the new Torrent that’s out. It’s kind of like a high-line bowling ball. It gives you a little more oomph on the backend and goes through the pins a little bit better.”
Weber’s tips for bowlers are to make sure they bring more than two balls to the lanes and get those spares. He says spares are downplayed by bowlers and they should be.
The bowlers who showed up at Don Carters were able to get autographs from Weber and they were able to have balls made to custom made for them and they were able to test out all of the new balls on the lanes.
