Pelletier’s Monster Game Spotlights IceHogs Win

Rookie left winger William Pelletier notched four points (2g-2a) in his second career professional game and Brandon Mashinter chipped in three assists to lead the April Fools’ Day motley clad Rockford IceHogs (24-34-9-3) past the Grand Rapids Griffins, (43-21-1-4) 4-1, Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Starting in his second career professional game after winning an NCAA Division III National Championship with Norwich University (VT), Pelletier factored in every IceHogs goal Saturday evening. He potted the second and third goals in the contest.

Pelletier sent a tape-to-tape pass to Kyle Baun to open the scoring for the IceHogs at 8:31 in the first period.

Luke Johnson scored the fourth Rockford goal at 16:23 in the final period to seal the win.

IceHogs goaltender Jeff Glass made 36 saves with Colin Campbell netting the lone goal for the Griffins midway through the second period.
