OAKLAND, Ca. (WTVO) – The Raptors managed to rob the Warriors of a home court win, leaving Oakland with a 105-92 win in Friday night’s game four of the NBA Finals. Toronto now has a 3-1 series lead and is one win away from securing the franchise’s first ever title, if they win game five at home.
What most expected to be another double-figure night for Rockford’s own Fred VanVleet turned out to be a game where he had just eight points, six assists, and four rebounds. His night was cut short when he took one for the team in the fourth quarter with Shaun Livingston’s elbow to the face. VanVleet left the game with a cut just under his eye, resulting in seven stitches but no concussion. Oh yeah, and his chipped tooth was left on the floor for a good few minutes before it was picked up. The tooth even has its own Twitter account now – yes, we’re serious.
Kawhi Leonard helped lead the way for the Raptors with 36 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Following behind was Serge Ibaka who finished with 20 points, four rebounds and one assist.
Not even Klay Thompson’s return with a team-high 28 points could help the Warriors on Friday. He came back after a hamstring injury kept him out of game four.
You can watch game five of the NBA Finals on WTVO on Monday, June 10th beginning at 8 PM/CT.
