It was a beautiful day for a run in Rockford on Sunday. The great weather turned the YMCA’s 33rd Annual Heritage Run a fun day for runners, and families from the stateline.
Over 500 people took part in a day filled with events. It started with the first half-mile color run in front of the BMO Harris Bank Center. Then concluded with the 10k and two-mile races near the corner of State and Wyman.
Rockford native Shawn Williams won the two-mile race with a time eleven minutes and twenty-eight seconds, and Auburn High School graduate Shawn Ferguson won the 10k race with an impressive time of thirty-three minutes and thirty-two seconds.
