Yesterday’s final round of the US Women’s Open created plenty of drama and changes to this years 40th annual Rockford Pro-Am.

US Open Champion Brittany Lang has committed to the Field to help replace Gerina Piller who with her T-8th place finish at the US Open moved her to 15th in the World Rankings and Qualified for the Rio Olympic Games by .06 World Ranking points.  We’re extremely excited for Gerina who was here with us last year to have this opportunity to represent the United States along with Stacy Lewis (a past Rockford Pro Am participant) and Lexi Thompson.  We’ll make sure to bring Gerina back to Rockford in the future.

With her first major victory Brittany Lang moves to 20th in the World Rankings and the 4th rated American golfer.   It’s the 2nd career LPGA victory for the 30 year old Duke grad and she’s eclipsed $7 million in career earnings.  Lang has competed on the last 4 US Solheim Cup teams and is known as a galvanizing member with her quick wit.  Should be a perfect Pro-Am partner!

The Rockford Pro-Am has also received commitments from PGA Tour winners Billy Hurley III and Brendon Todd.

Both Billy and Brendon have won events since they were last with us in Rockford.

Billy Hurley III played with us in Rockford last year and won the Quicken Loans National in June.  The win was dubbed as the Story of the Year on the PGA Tour as Billy is the only Naval Academy graduate to play and win on the Tour.  The Quicken Loans event hosted by Tiger Woods is played at Congressional Country Club in the nations Capitol and supports the US Armed Forces.  Along with a 2 year exemption on Tour, the win will gain Billy entry into the WGC-Bridgestone, the PGA Championship, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, the Masters, the Players Championship, and the Rockford Pro-Am.

Brendon Todd played the 2013 Rockford Pro-Am and went on to win the 2014 Byron Nelson.  His hot play in 2014 moved Brendon inside the top 50 in the world rankings and in to the past 2 British Open’s.  At age 30 the Georgia graduate has made $7.1 million in his PGA Tour career.
