ROCKFORD, IL — The hometown team is off to a great start in the National Softball Association B & C Girls Fast Pitch World Series.
The Rockford Xtreme came out on top in pool play Thursday in the 18U division of Class B. The Xtreme opened with a 2-1 win over the Bison Outlaws. The Xtreme follow that up with a 9-1 win against the Elite Hurricanes of Farmington, Missouri.

The Xtreme will next play Friday morning at 8 a.m. in the 18U bracket of Class B against the Capital City Chaos of Illinois.
85 teams from six states are competing in the 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U age groups. Some of the games are being played at Sportscore One in Rockford. Others are being played at the Harlem Community Center in Machesney Park, the Davis Junction Community Park and the Youth Sports Complex-Stateline Family YMCA in Beloit.
