Rockton’s Corey Anderson seeks third straight win in UFC 232

Sports

Rockton native Corey Anderson has spent the last five months building up to this Saturday night. That’s when he’ll step into the octagon again for UFC 232.

The fight card will take place in the forum in Inglewood, California. Anderson (12-4) is on a two fight win streak this year which has made him a hot property again in UFC. He’s ranked 10th in the light heavyweight division. His opponent Sautrdya will be fifth ranked light heavyweight Ilri Latifi (15-5).

“He’s a heavy striker,” says Anderson of his Latifi. “They call him the sledgehammer. He’s not a many-punch type guy, but he has one big overhand right. He sprints forward, he throws it, he drops his head  and he’s a short, stocky, built guy probably like 5’10 but he’s solid. He throws that overhand right from way back from leftfield and it hopefully lands.”

Anderson’s fight Saturday night is part of the main card of UFC 232. It can only be seen on pay per view.
