Schroeder off to a strong start with the IceHogs

A newcomer to the IceHogs who is proving to be a big addition is forward Jordan Schroeder. Through six games the 28 year old veteran has scored three goals and added two assists.

Last season he was with the Cleveland Monsters and he was their third leading scorer. So what he’s doing with the IceHogs isn’t a surprise. He came to the IceHogs from the Blue Jackets’ organization in a trade back in June for goaltender J.F. Berube. Schroeder viewed the trade as a fresh start and the IceHogs as a good fit.

“I was excited,” says Schroeder. “The way Chicago plays and the system they play. I played both Chicago and Rockford in the past and they play a very similar style a speed game. Swarm, go, quick transition. The kind of hockey I like to play and enjoy.”

Schroeder and the IceHogs will have three home games this week Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
