Smolinski’s Season Likely Over

Jake Smolinski’s 2018 baseball season is most likely over.

Sunday the Oakland A’s recalled the Rockford native from Class AAA Nashville and then they placed him on the 60 day disabled list. He has a blood clot in his left calf.

Smolinski has appeared in 19 games with the A’s this season batting .128 in 39 at bats. With Nashville in 39 games he batted .278 with 10 home runs and 19 RBI.
