Starfires To Pay Tribute To Former Peach

We’ve lost another Rockford Peach. Louise Erickson Sauer has passed away at the age of 86.

Sauer played under the name Lou Erickson in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The Whitehall,  Wisconsin native was an all-star pitcher. She won 17 games for the Peaches in 1949 and she won 16 games in 1950.

She also played for the Racine Belles.

The current Rockford women’s baseball team the Starfires will pay tribute to her between games of a doubleheader this Saturday, June 11 around two o’clock at Beyer Stadium.
