Starfires “Two For Lou” Pays Tribute To Former Peach

Sports

The Rockford Starfires played a double header at Beyer Stadium called ‘Two For Lou’ on Saturday.

The name was given in remembrance of former Rockford Peach Louise Sauer who passed away last month. Between games a tribute was held in her honor on the field. Family and friends shared stories, and memories of their time with Lou.

“She has no idea how she’s effected so many people in not just our family, not just the town, but all over the world.” says Sauer’s younger sister Sue Parisi. “She has dresser drawers full of fan mail from all over the country. It’s just amazing the impact that these women have made, and not just her. She would say the whole league.”
