Fred Van Vleet’s road to the NBA has gotten a little more challenging. He’s not one of the 60 players who have been invited to the NBA Draft Combine next week in Chicago.
The two-day event next Thursday and Friday will have players going through drills and playing in five-on-five scrimmages with scouts, coaches and GMs watching.
Van Vleet’s Wichita State teammate Ron Baker has been invited.
Van Vleet’s father Joe Danforth tells Eyewitness News that the Combine isn’t a make-or-break deal for Van Vleet. Still it would have been an opportunity for Van Vleet to try to sway any doubters to his side.
Van Vleet will be participating in private tryouts for NBA teams before the June 23rd draft. Recently he’s been training at 100% hoops in Indianapolis. He has signed with ASM Sports Agency.
