Fred VanVleet looked like he felt right at home in Hoffman Estates on Saturday night.
In his first trip to Illinois as a professional, VanVleet, paced the Raptors 905 with 23 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds. His biggest two points of the night were a pair of free throws he sunk with less than a second left in the game that broke a 100-100 tie.
“That’s what the fourth quarter is for,” says VanVleet. “It’s for the big time players to make plays, and that’s what I try to do especially for this group. You know try to be the closer and get it done. I was able to draw a foul there and knock down the free throws.”
VanVleet is averaging 16.1 points, and 6.6 assists per game with the Raptors 905.
