VanVleet’s shoe deal not your typical NBA shoe deal

Sports

(WTVO/WQRF) — Shoe deals are not uncommon for NBA players, but Rockford native Fred VanVleet has taken a new slant on a shoe deal.

The Toronto Raptors guard has partnered with the Canadian clothing line Roots on a limited edition designed TUFF Boot. It’s the black boot in the photo above with the red and black plaid ankle cuff.

The boots come in a specially designed box that has VanVleet’s logo on it. The boots are on sale for both men and women. They are said to be lightweight, but tough enough to hold up to Canadian winters.

The boots go on sale in Roots stores in the Toronto area on Wednesday, September 18.

In a news release VanVleet said, “I’m excited to collaborate with Roots, a brand that shares my commitment to community and celebrating the authenticity of a person’s story…I look forward to wearing my TUFF Boots on my journey forward.”
