Dwyane Wade is taking his talents from South Beach to the shores of Lake Michigan. He has told the Associated Press that he has committed to the Bulls.
Wade is a native of Chicago. He has spent his entire 13 year NBA career with the Miami Heat helping the Heat win three championships. But Wade reportedly become embittered over contract negotiations with the Heat.
He averaged 19 points per game last season during the regular season and 21 points per game in the playoffs.
The Bulls have traded Mike Dunleavy to the Cavs and Jose Calderon to the Lakers to free up salary cap space to sign Wade to a two-year deal worth a reported $48 million.
He is the Bulls’ second major free agent acquisition this summer along with point guard Rajon Rondo.
