The Chicago White Sox have suspended their ace pitcher Chris Sale for 5 days.
White Sox Senior Vice President/General Manager Rick Hahn released a statement on Sunday saying:
“Chris has been suspended for violating team rules, for insubordination and for destroying team equipment,” said Hahn. “While we all appreciate Chris’ talent and passion, there is a correct way and an incorrect way to express concerns about team rules and organizational expectations.”
The suspension is stemming off an incident on Saturday that centered around Sale’s discomfort wearing the retro uniforms the team sported that night. Sale argued with front office staff and even cut up his game jersey. That led to him being scratched from his scheduled start and immediately sent home.
