House catches fire twice in two weeks

ROCKFORD, ILL. (WTVO) — The Rockford Fire Department battled a house fire early Friday morning.

The first unit on scene at 4310 N. Wilshire Avenue reported smoke showing from the front and back of the single story home around 2:40 a.m.

They figured out the fire started in the living room area and were able to put it out.

Firefighters do not think anyone has been living in the home recently. An investigators was called to conduct an origin and cause determination.

This is the second fire at this property within the past two weeks.

There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
