The International Baccalaureate Candidate School at Conklin is getting a garden in the spring. The Garden will be implemented into the teaching curriculum growing STEM learning at the school.

The longtime Rockford restaurant suffered a fire recently, and is now moving.

The plans also include a name attribution on the new construction and an auction. "They will be auctioning off the equipment, the the furniture, the fixtures of this speedway," said Fitzgerald. "They'll be auctioning off memorabilia in May of 2023."

Firefighters were called to the residence around 10:00 a.m. The fire is believed to have started from contractor work being done at the house, according to officials.

Christopher Mailand, 34, was identified as the suspect in the assault. Mailand and the victim knew each other, according to police.

Kenneth Townsend, 37, is charged with one count of first degree murder. Breanna Brooks, 32, Townsend’s alleged fiancée, was also arrested on allegations of destroying evidence pertaining to the investigation.
