A local blood bank is hoping that curiosity will help bring potential donors through its doors.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford Rivets held a Rockford Rescue Mission night at Friday's ball game. Throwing out the first pitch was David Connelly, someone who fully encapsulates what the Mission is all about.

"Going through the mission. I went through the program and everything. So to do things like this is awesome," said Connelly who now works with the Rescue Mission in the maintenance department.
