Being a teen can be hard, especially when it comes to finding a safe place to hang out which is why the Rockford Public Library made a space dedicated to teens. The Rockford Public Library is also forming a Teen Advisory Committee. This committee will be made up of teens who will meet monthly to discuss YA Zone and review the programs and materials. Morgan Yordy explains that the committee really is meant to be by teens, for teens because they want the teens of the community to be involved. November is National Novel Writing Month so the library is offering programs to help get creative writing juices flowing. The International Baccalaureate Candidate School at Conklin is getting a garden in the spring. The Garden will be implemented into the teaching curriculum growing STEM learning at the school.

The longtime Rockford restaurant suffered a fire recently, and is now moving.

The plans also include a name attribution on the new construction and an auction. "They will be auctioning off the equipment, the the furniture, the fixtures of this speedway," said Fitzgerald. "They'll be auctioning off memorabilia in May of 2023."

Firefighters were called to the residence around 10:00 a.m. The fire is believed to have started from contractor work being done at the house, according to officials.

Christopher Mailand, 34, was identified as the suspect in the assault. Mailand and the victim knew each other, according to police.
